Slimming world - the first week

So... As earlier post stated; I re-started slimming world...
And in my first week I lost 3lbs! Chuffed! Now I'm not going to say that I stuck to it 100% I would probably say 75% I stuck to it... Maybe more; for the majority of it I felt in control. Porridge for breakfast, then mugshots for lunch and then for dinners this week we've mainly had stir fry purely for the fact that they are quick and easy to do. Some pitfalls; for example. Sunday dinner was at M's parents a dinner that I had no control over. Then there was the offer of Xmas pud; handmade by M, how could I refuse? Monday to be honest I delved into the chocolates and again I've done it this morning whilst sewing... Why do I sabotage myself. Lesson this week is to get more supplies in!
Plus this week I went to the gym and I've booked myself a programme review which is tomorrow. So let's see how that goes!

Survived the weekend..

So first slimming world weekend and I would love to say that I survived 100% nope. Thankfully I was at work so I wasn't faced with the being-at-home-with-temptation-all-around feeling...

So breakfasts were porridge... Lunch was pretty much non existent... Saturday we were out for dinner and cinema and Sunday we had lunch with m's parents, - and then settled down to watch Sherlock... Oh how I love Sherlock... I'm not going to do a blow by blow account of the episode... So if that's what you're looking for - it's not here.

I'm struggling at the moment. The creative thoughts are just about bubbling but as to what to do with them... It kinda dissapates! Hey ho.

Sorry it's not more... More. But I ain't got nowt right now!

The start of slim

Well, as previous posts have voiced. I am a slimming world fiend. Despite going for years; I rejoined tonight... And have planned and given myself a three month target... And I'm going to bloody well do it!

I shall post here as I go; and let's see if this motivates me any!!!

A Restful Day

Today has been one of those days when I really haven't had any energy. We entertained both families last night, and even though it wasn't a late one, both of us are pretty bombed today! :-)
Today has given me some chance to start eBaying again... I've posted a link to my +eBay  sales on another page on my Blog. Head over and have a look at the For Sale tab and I'll aim to keep it updated with various goodies! At the moment, it's clothes; but I'm sure there will be other items soon enough.

M made a lovely soup today; Mum and I won the raffle at Slimming World on Thursday and we won a bag of root vegetables and fruit, so M made a soup with the goodies. Carrots, parsnips, onion, potato, Tumeric and Cumin.. I must say it was very thick, but so tasty and very filling, well done M!

I've been off the grid

Where does the time go? Invariably that is a question that everybody asks.

All I can do is apologise!

What have I been doing?

Well, we went away to Somerset for a long weekend... Which was lovely... As the pictures show... (They will be here!).
Our plan in fact was to visit the various Christmas markets and get some presents, or some interesting decorations for our first tree.... Alas... Not much was forth coming. What decorations we did get came from pound land.... But you wouldn't know! And then we stopped in a garden centre chain and got our lights... But we were able to stop in the farm shop (which I love!) there I managed to get a couple of goodies for presents.

Then upon our return it was my turn to host our stitch club... And what fun we had.... Christmas songs on in background and many laughs and giggles were had.  I had wanted to get pictures but we didn't end up doing so! Next time!

Thursday was slimming world night... I have no idea how I got on. To be honest my brain isn't getting round it at the moment.

Friday night was M's Christmas party, and the Dickensian evening was in the village so dad and I went to the Christmas evening and Matt off to his Christmas party... A late one was had... I got a message at  nearly 1am that he was ready. I arrived, 1:05; but he didn't appear until 1:25! So it was tiring. But he had been warned that nothing was getting in the way of us getting our tree!

Saturday... It should have been a joyous day for us getting our tree.... But it was longggggggg! But well worth it... Check out the tree!

My crafting has taken a little bit of a back seat. Although I did start a cross stitch... But it's too late this evening as I write this to do any this evening.

I have been commissioned a snood to make.  I have placed my first order with black sheep wools. www.blacksheepwools.com I'll be sure to post a review of how things go with them when the items arrive!

Getting ready for Christmas

Thursday night... Slimming world night. Weigh in night!

Got a lovely text from my consultant this afternoon, letting me know that I had been nominated for miss slinky 2013. It was a lovely lovely surprise!

I didn't win. But I'm perfectly happy. All the ladies nominated had wonderful stories and journeys to share. But it has made me more determined.... Between now and Christmas I am going to change! Tomorrow I shall read through my Slimming World book, and write my food down, to keep me extra motivated I will write it on here too... Or I shall endeavour to anyhow! I may even make another page to my blog, specifically aimed at Slimming World. Please let me know what you think of this idea! Until tomorrow! Xxx

Yummies

I was feeling quite domesticated when it got to yesterday afternoon.  Other than that I was feeling quite unmotivated!

The weather was awful here yesterday. Ok... awful too strong a word that's agreed. But it was cold, wet and windy... M and I had considered going to the cinema to watch Gravity in 3D, but once he got in, we decided against it! So with the weather being decidedly seasonal I thought what would be nice and warming? I opted for Slimming World Cowboy Pie, the recipe is available here. I exchanged celery for celeriac... as I didn't have any celery, and had 3/4 of a celeriac left to use! I made up roasted celeriac, carrots and red onions to accompany.  It was so filling and warming, I had no chance of finishing my portion! We then sat down in front of the telly, we are E4 fans and so our evening was mostly spent watching Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, and Rules of Engagement! I sat knitting the Christmas snoods... I've lost count of how many I've made now.  I also finished the snood that I'm pleased to say I designed myself! I'll post a pattern here when I can!

Will post pics of the pie mix, as it did look scrummy; I'd say its a bit of a chilli bean mix really, very filling as it has the meat, veg, kidney beans, baked beans and sweet-corn. I guess you could sub the baked beans for cannellini beans if you so wished!

As promised... Pics..
